chinatown and chili crab

wanted to share a few photos from our time with anna and jared! i loved seeing them and hearing about their adventures in myanmar (they've been teaching and working for an ngo for the past three years). they'd only been to singapore for shorter stays, so together we explored chinatown and clarke quay, tried chili crab (a singaporean specialty), and downed a few tiger beers.

What is that "thing" Jared is holding? It's looks to be either a mushroom or is that the "bisquete".."busquick"...
biscuit"...damn..i mean, roll!? I don't know how to spell that word! :) I love you, Momma

Are the streets stone, concrete, what? What about cars...Japanese, US, Euro? Dress colorful or drab? What do you feel about wealth or lack there of when you walk down streets not main drags? Boy, am I wondering about Chili Crab? Fried vs. steamed morsels, or softshell ..in a hot chili sauce? So many questions.
